Keanu Reeves Confirmed For ‘Cowboy Bebop’

Keanu Reeves will indeed by leading the cast of the upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop.
Reeves has been tapped for the role of Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter who travels through space in the year 2071. Cowboy Bebop, which follows a group of bounty hunters traveling on their spaceship, the Bebop.
The anime’s production team at Sunrise Inc. will be closely involved with the film. Sunrise’s Kenji Uchida and Shinichiro Watanabe and series writer Keiko Nobumoto will be associate producers, while series producer Masahiko Minami will be a production consultant.
Erwin Stoff (The Day The Earth Stood Still) will produce, with Joshua Long exec producing.

I enjoy the show greatly, so I think filling the role of Spike isn’t easy. I agree though; When I heard Keanu was playing Spike, I felt alright. I think (and hope) he will do well.

I cant wait for this movie to come out.
I think Keanu would be an awesome spike.
I’m a fan of the series as well and I think the biggest
concern for me is the music. Once Yoko Kanno is signed on
to this project I will be completely happy. For those fans who
think this will be another Dragonball you should read the article
one more time. Sunrise, Watanabe, Nobumoto, nuff said…

He’s one of my favourite actors and I love Cowboy Bebop. I hope it’ll be awesome. =) I can’t wait to see it.

I really hope this isn’t a disaster. I love cowboy bebop so if this turns out as bad as the dragon ball z movie its just going to suck. In my opinion Hollywood should just leave cowboy bebop alone before they make a classic anime into some joke.
If it turns out as good as speed racer I won’t be so disappointed.
But a word of caution if this isn’t accurate enough cowboy bebop fans will hate it and keanu reeves for making this movie. I just hope sunrise and the creater take precaution before selling out to Hollywood.
